  • How long does it take to rent a car and start driving?
    First, we need to submit your application to our insurance company to add you to our policy. If there are no accidents or other issues, this takes about one hour. Once you are approved, you will be able to select a vehcile to rent and sign the rental contract, this can take up to 2 hour once you are assigned to a rental agent. Our inventory is constantly influx with vehicles coming back and vehicles going out. Vehicles are rented on a first come first serve basis. Please ask your Rental Agent for an approximate time frame for availability of the vehicle you are interested in.
  • What is the minimum age and licensing requirements to qualify for a rental vehicle?
    1. To be approved by insurance you must be 21 or older to rent a TLC plated car and 25 or older to rent a regular plated car. 2. Maximum age of 64. Due to our insurance company regulations. 3. A Valid Driver’s License from NY, NJ or CT. Driver's license must be at least two (2) years old. 4. TLC/Hack License. A receipt is NOT acceptable. You must have the actual physical license in your possession.
  • How do I make payments each week on a rental vehicle?
    Tower will charge the credit card on file every week. A payment link to pay over the phone can be used upon request.
  • What is included in the rent payment?
    The rental payment includes the car, full coverage and liability insurance, Diamond, Plate, registration and regular vehicle maintenance. It does NOT include EZ Pass, tickets, gas or any other expense incurred by you.
  • When is my payment due each week?
    Payment on TLC rental contracts are due every Monday. Your next payment will typically be due on the Monday following the day you pick up the vehicle. The exact date will be provided to you by your Rental Agent. However, it is important to remember that you will only pay rent for the days you rent the vehicle. Regular plated rentals are due on the same day of the week you picked up the car.
  • Can I rent or share this car with someone else?
    You are the only person insured and authorized to operate the rental vehicle. You cannot lease, share or rent this vehicle to or with a third party.
  • Who pays the tickets on the car?
    You are responsible for paying for all tickets, summons or citations issued to the vehicle while it is being rented to you. This includes, but is not limited to, parking tickets, EZ Pass violations and red light camera tickets. Failing to pay will incur additional $25 processing fee charged to your account.
  • Who pays the oil change and other vehicle maintenance?
    Regular vehicle maintenance is scheduled and performed at our repair shop located at 1415 Cromwell Ave, Bronx, NY 10452. You are responsible to schedule your maintenance appointment with the body shop via email or on our webiste.
  • Do I have to let you know when I want to return the car?
    Yes. Prior to the termination the rental contract, a 14 days in advance notice must be provided to Tower. Click here to schedule a return. Failing to provide 2 weeks return notice incur $250 early termination fee.
  • Can I pick up street hails (Yellow or Green cab)?
    Street Hails are NOT permitted with Tower rental vehicles. All of our rental vehicle are affiliated with the leading rideshare services in NY. Violators are subject to substantial penalties from TLC.
  • What do I need to start the rental process?
    The first step is to be approved by our insurance. Click here to start the process.
  • Is there a minimum or maximum period for your cars?
    We require two (2) weeks minimum for renting a TLC vehicle and a one (1) week minimum for renting regular plated vehcile.
  • Where do I go to start the rental process?

  • Is there a mileage limit?
    No, there are no limits or restrictions on mileage.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    You can pay with a credit card excluding American Express, a debit card, cash or money orders. Personal checks are not accepted.
  • How much money do I need to rent a car?
    Visit our Rental Page for details One (1) week upfront payment is required for TLC plated rentals. A minimum deposit of $350 is required for regular plated rentals.
  • Major violations that automatically disqualify you from being insured on our policy:
    1. Speeding tickets in excess of 19 MPH over the posted limit 2. DUI’s or DWI’s 3. More than 10 points on your Driver’s License 4. Hit and Run accidents 5. More than three (3) accidents 6. Accident with a school bus 7. Speeding in a school zone 8. Hitting a pedestrian 9. Hitting a bicyclist 10. Fleeing the scene of an accident (Hit and Run)
Proceso de alquiler
  • Al llegar a nuestra sede, se le ofrecerán algunos documentos para revisar que describirán el programa de alquiler.

  • Luego se le ofrecerá un formulario de aplicación y un cuestionario para completar.

  • Su aplicación será enviada después a nuestra aseguradora. Este proceso puede demorar entre 15 minutos y una hora, según su historial de conductor.

  • Si recibe la aprobación de la compañía aseguradora, se reunirá con uno de nuestros numerosos agentes de alquiler de vehículos, quien repasará el programa de alquiler con usted. Si hay algún vehículo disponible, le ofreceremos los documentos necesarios para obtener su activación como conductor de Uber, si así lo desea.

  • Luego se reunirá con un representante de Uber en nuestra oficina para finalizar el proceso de incorporación.

  • Al finalizar el proceso de incorporación, le explicaremos los términos del Contrato de alquiler. Después usted firmará el contrato, pagará los montos correspondientes y se irá con el vehículo.

  • Es así de simple. Puede empezar a conducir y ganar dinero en un par de horas.

  • Tenga presente que recibimos más de 100 visitantes por día. Por lo tanto, agradeceremos su paciencia y comprensión. Nuestra meta es ofrecerle no solo el servicio más rápido, sino también el mejor posible.

  • Licencia de conducir

  • Licencia de TLC o de taxi

  • Tarjeta del Seguro Social

  • Un pago no reembolsable de $20 para el historial de conductor de vehículo motorizado (MVR, por sus siglas en inglés).

  • Constancia de domicilio (factura de servicios, extracto bancario, factura de tarjeta de crédito, etc.).

  • Copia de un formulario de autorización de tarjeta de débito o crédito o de depósito directo que incluya su nombre, número de cuenta y número de enrutamiento.

  • Se podrían requerir documentos adicionales en el caso de los conductores provenientes de otros estados (por ejemplo, NJ requiere curso de conducción defensiva o DDC, por sus siglas en inglés).
